Below is a listing of IAEE awards given by the Association. The Association’s Immediate Past President annually chairs the Awards committee that selects the award recipients. Individuals recommending a candidate for one of these awards may send an email to the current IAEE Immediate Past President and/or IAEE Executive Director at any time. Please mention the individual’s name and substantiation for consideration of the award. The presentation of the IAEE awards is usually given by the Immediate Past President or the current IAEE President.

Outstanding Contributions to The Profession Award

Since 1981, the IAEE has awarded an annual prize for outstanding contributions to the field of energy economics and its literature.  Past winners of the Outstanding Contributions Award are:

The Energy Journal Campbell Watkins Best Paper Award

Journalism Award

In 1983, the IAEE instituted the IAEE Award for Excellence in Written Journalism on topics relating to international energy economics.  The award was generously underwritten in 1983 and 1984 by John K. Evans, in 1985 and 1986 by Temple, Barker & Sloane and in 1993 to 1996 by the International Petroleum Exchange.

Outstanding Contributions to the IAEE Award

From time to time the IAEE presents an award for outstanding contributions to the Association.
Publication: No publication option or requirement.
Conference Participation: Award is typically given at an IAEE International Conference and the winner is asked to address the audience with a few brief remarks, sometimes anecdotal, of no more than 5 minutes.
