Journalism Award In 1983, the IAEE instituted the IAEE Award for Excellence in Written Journalism on topics relating to international energy economics.  The award was generously underwritten in 1983 and 1984 by John K. Publication: No publication option or requirement. Conference Participation: Award is typically given at an IAEE International Conference and the winner is asked to address the audience with a few brief remarks, sometimes anecdotal, of no more than 5 minutes. The presentation of this award is usually given by the current IAEE President. Past winners of the award include: 1984 Helmut Frank, founding editor of The Energy Journal 1989 John K.
