Association Webinars: AI in Energy: Advancing New Research Paradigms

Artificial intelligence (AI) has received renewed interest from businesses and academia in recent years. In 2017, thought-leader NBER held a conference to set a research agenda on the economics of artificial intelligence, while tech giant Google announced its ‘AI first’ strategy. The following year, McKinsey counted more than 400 use cases of AI and this number continues rapidly growing. This webinar will discuss how AI tools can impact firms’ strategies, with emphasis on the energy utility industry (based on the example of Enel). Among other things, speakers will comment on AI as a general purpose technology and discuss how macro-economic tools can be paired with AI to forecast future price and consumption scenarios.
