Association Webinars: (Mis)allocation of Renewable Energy Sources



  

 

After restrictive lockdown and quarantine policies to contain the COVID-19 in the past few months, China has started to recover its economy with governmental aids. This talk will provide an overview of the direct economic impact and the associated indirect environmental impacts of COVID19, and highlight the challenges it may bring to the fight for climate change with current recovery plan in China.

Speaker:

Dr. Lin Zhang is an assistant professor in the School of Energy and Environment at the City University of Hong Kong, with a joint appointment in the Department of Public Policy. With a focus on energy and environmental economics, Dr. Zhang has published 30 papers in top-field journals in economics such as the European Economic Review, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, The Energy Journal. Dr. Zhang holds a PhD in economics from ETH Zurich, double bachelor degrees from Peking University.
