The main idea of this webinar is to propose some insights regarding the energy transition. More specifically, we aim to propose an overlook of the transition before covid-19 and the main challenges. Then, the global shock of COVID-19 and what are the consequences, through focusing on the perspective of COP26. Finally, we will analyze the issue of transition after the recent energy shock.

Moderator:

Zied FTITI is full professor of Financial Econometrics, and Associate Dean of Research at EDC Paris Business School. He has obtained his PhD in Economics at the University of Lyon, His research area includes Financial Econometrics, Energy Economics, International Finance and Macroeconomics. He has published books and many papers in top-tier journals such as Energy Journal, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Energy Studies Review, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Econometric Reviews, Annals of Operations Research, Applied Economics, Journal of International Monetary and Finance, among many others, etc. Prof. Zied Ftiti is the founder and the organizer of the Financial Economic Meeting conference and the Ethical Finance and suitability conference. He is Associate Editor of the Bankers, Markets & Investors. He has acted as guest editor for high-quality international journals in economics and finance, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Annals of Operational Research, Bankers Markets &Investors, Computational Economics, Energy Journal among others.

Speakers:

Alexandre Borde started his career as an economist in the agriculture department of the World Bank before joining the United Nations FAO in 1997. During this time, he was involved in international environmental negotiations and the management of several development projects in Central and Eastern Europe, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. In 2004, he founded Carbonium, a company specialising in greenhouse gas emission reduction projects in the field of renewable energy, waste and forestry, and innovative financing (notably climate funds).

Anna Creti is Full Professor at Université Paris Dauphine, Paris; Director of the Climate Economics Chair (Un. Dauphine) and the Economics of Gas Chair (U Dauphine, Toulouse School of Economics, IFPEN, Ecole des Mines). She is Research Fellow, Ecole Polytechnique, Paris and external Affiliate, Siebel Institute, Berkeley. Anna holds a PhD from the Toulouse School of Economics and a post-doc from the London School of Economics. She has extensively studied competition and regulation of network utilities (telecommunications, banks, gas, electricity...), as well as the link between energy, climate and environmental regulation. Anna has numerous publications in top economic journals and she also intervenes in several medias.

Haitham Joumni was awarded a PhD in Economics by the University of Versailles (France). He is a senior economist at the Scientific and Technical Center for Building (French Ministry of Ecological Transition).

He is also an associate professor in economics at the Sorbonne Paris Nord University. His research activities focus on: (i) the evaluation of economic and regulatory incentive instruments for energy transition in buildings and cities; (ii) the study of forms of deregulation of network industries and models of public-private partnerships; (iii) and the environmental and socio-economic assessment of energy and urban development projects.

Haitham Joumni has carried out several expertise and training missions for national and international organizations as well as for private partners (Ministry of Research, Universities, European Commission, Electricité de France, World Bank, etc.).
