Cass Business School, London

The International Centre for Shipping,Trade and Finance was established in 1983 with the aim to provide teaching to a standard of international excellence, to share our expertise globally and to disseminate research of the highest quality.

We fulfilled our first aim, by developing the MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance in 1984 and its sister degree, the MSc in Logistics, Trade and Finance in 1997. In 2003, we are launching a new MSc in Energy, Trade and Finance, which will run in parallel to the existing courses. We are grateful to Channoil Consulting Ltd who participated in design of this MSc.

Our home in the City of London, the nexus of the global financial, maritime, insurance and commodity trading industries, gives us the optimum location for professional business education. Teaching on these masters degrees is designed to develop graduates capable of operating at the highest levels of international business, including banking and finance, shipping, transport, logistics, trading, and related sectors and industries.

The success of our tuition and the calibre of our students is illustrated by graduate employment statistics. From a total of over 1,200 graduates to date, all have taken their place in the international business community. Graduates are found in the banking and finance sector (36 per cent), shipping (29 per cent), trade (7 per cent), industry and manufacturing (5 per cent), consultancy (6 per cent), and the remainder in various other sectors, including law, academia and international organisations.
